Addressing the theme of “Science, Philosophy and Spirituality, Which is Best?” Pujya Swamiji brilliantly shared His inspirational message that we should “Whilst we may pursue management courses in a number of fields within our universities and colleges to me there are three things that we must truly learn to manage which I term as the Three Ts: Tongue Management, Time Management and Thought Management. When we learn to manage these three Ts everything else becomes much easier to manage. To me this is the essence of spirituality, and the essence of our culture. When we really learn and implement these three things, our lives become successful and we become assets to the world.”
He also spoke of the “culture of oneness and togetherness and trusting each other, and that culture, nature and future are three very important things that we must dedicate ourselves to. We must protect our culture, be grounded in our culture and connected to our culture. We must also take care of our nature, our environment, and when we do both of those things then – and only then – will our future be secured.”
Listen to His speech:
Sadhvi Bhagawatiji concurred, sharing that “the science and philosophy that we learned in school are magnificent tools that help us achieve so many wonderful things in the world but, ultimately, it is spirituality that actually gives our lives direction. I come from America – from the world of the other MIT, the MIT in which the Technology is technology of math and science and engineering. But here, at this MIT, it is a technology of life because it’s bringing spirituality in, and all of the academic subjects, all of the knowledge, all of the facts are wonderful but, when we wake-up in the night wondering “Who am I? What is the purpose of my life? What’s my dharma?” we don’t turn to those academic subjects for the answers. Only our spirituality gives us those answers, and that’s why it’s so essential to be anchored and grounded in spirituality. Gyan, what we call knowledge or wisdom, is not just the accumulation of facts, but Gyan is actually deep wisdom that assimilates all of that and grounds us and anchors us in the truth.”
Delighted to share today at 5th #WorldParliamofScienceReligionandSpirituality hosted by @MITWPUOfficial & @mitadtpune about the importance of #spirituality as real wisdom in a system focused only on accumulation of facts. Science gives us speed, but spirituality gives direction! pic.twitter.com/PEvTUgU5o6
