During His short but highly anticipated visit, Pujya Swamiji spoke to the thousands of faithful devotees the importance of not only worshiping the Creator but also serving the creation, especially the five elements that make up our world.
He shared that today due to pollution of our water ways, our air and massive deforestation and unsustainable development our sacred and precious planet Earth is suffering and so are millions of people. He explained that nearly 600 million people are forced to opendefecate causing E-coli bacteria to contaminate our water, our soil and our crops. He explained that nearly 1200 children die every day due to polluted water and lack of WASH.
He urged and lead everyone in a pledge to not only perform poojas and Hanuman Chalisas in their temples but to come together with their communities to perform abhisheks and clean-ups of the streets around the temples. He also said that Ganesh Bhagwan (Lord Ganesh) was known as the God of buddhi (intellect), suddhi (purity) aur siddhi (divine characteristics and power). He declared that suddhi is a siddhi, explained that purity and cleaniness of our environment of our villages was the true need of the hour. He inspired them with His spiritual innovative approach and gave the mantras of building toilets, then school and thereafter temples. He shared that every single flower from the poojas could be used to create holy fertilizer, to make incense and to be a great change. He shared that this would not only create livelihoods but protect our environment. He also urged that next time He would only come back on one condition, that only one single flower would be offered on behalf of everyone to Him as a symbol of their love and devotion instead of the countless flower malas they offered Him this time. He also said that with the money saved on the flower malas and the momentos they could invest in sponsoring a bio-toilet.
