Inner-net Connection to the Divine: Satsang in Leicester, UK

Inspiring Evening Inspires Indian Community Living Abroad to Rreconnect with their Traditions and to Stay Connected to the Divine at all times

A beautiful spiritual gathering was organized at the Shree Sanatan Mandir in Leicester (UK) which was blessed by HH Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji – Muniji and HH Pujya Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswatiji.

Devotees, seekers and yoga enthusiasts from the UK and Europe gathered together to listen to the words of wisdom from Pujya Swamiji and Sadhvi Bhagawatiji. With the dedicated seva of Vibhootbeni Acharya, President of the Shree Sanatan Mandir, the entire Shree Sanatan Mandir team and committee, as well as many other local mandirs and Indian organisations, the divine evening was filled with beautiful bhajans and sacred chanting, followed by spiritual discourse and satsang with Pujya Swamiji and Sadhviji.

Pujya Swamiji and Sadhviji had not been in Leicester for approximately fifteen years, so the hall was completely filled with devotees who were so enthusiastic that they had returned, as well as numerous leaders from the local mandirs and organisations who came to pay their respects to Pujya Swamiji and Sadhviji.

Sadhvi Bhagawatiji spoke about how our “inner-net” is connecting to the Self, focusing on “Innerspace”, not “Outerspace.” Because it is our innerspace, we don’t need rocket science to get there! Rocket science is only needed for outer space. For inner space, we need to simply remove that which is keeping us from living as our true selves.

Sadhviji shared the story of a Golden Buddha discovered by Buddhist monks, who had thought the Buddha was made of clay. One day while cleaning the clean Buddha, they revealed that it was actually golden underneath! Years before, during times of war, the monks had covered the Golden Buddha with clay to protect it from being looted. No one from that time was alive anymore, so the fact that the Buddha was actually golden underneath was lost. All the monks had to do though to uncover the gold inside was remove the outer clay.

Sadhviji asked the audience, “What’s our clay that covers our golden inside?” She gave four D’s that our clay is usually made of: 1. our Dispositions (our habits, nature, who we have “become”), 2. our Desires for outer things, as we can only move in one direction at a time, 3. our Doubt, as we’ve been co-opted by science to think that only that which we can know with our senses is real, and 4. Distraction. She said that instead of those 4 D’s, we need to substitute those for a fifth D: Devotion.
